This semester we will explore illustration and design in the context of recent and emerging technologies. Along the way the hope is that through experiential learning you will develop the essential skills required of the professional designer/illustrator: self reliance, critical thinking, effective client/designer communications, and time management strategies.
We'll work on several short projects that culminate in a major assignment. The ultimate goal of our 14 week effort will be to produce capstone projects for your portfolio that demonstrate your ability to utilize new technology in the context of illustration.
You'll be designing both static and animated artwork.
As an introductory exercise, you will be designing a GIF banner for this blog entitled "Integrated Art 3" ... the finished GIF is due the week after next (Week 4) at midnight. I'll then create an album of the submitted work for us to review and we'll then vote on the winner, which will replace our current banner.
